Community Advisory Group

Application Form

There will be opportunities for interested stakeholders to be actively involved in the study through participation in a Community Advisory Group.

What is a Community Advisory Group (CAG)?

The CAG is a collection of community representatives and serves as the focal point for the exchange of information between government entities and the local community.

The CAG will be made up of community representatives, local government officials, property owners and residents, and stakeholders with technical expertise, reflecting a diverse set of perspectives and interests.

The CAG will assist Will County DOT, IDOT, and the Project Team in developing and refining the transportation improvement alternative that best serves the needs of the community and surrounding environment.

It is anticipated that the project will have up to five (5) CAG meetings to gather and review the information necessary to complete this study. Meetings will generally be scheduled during normal business hours. CAG members will be responsible for attending or designating a representative to attend the CAG meetings, providing general input on the study, communicating to stakeholders outside the CAG, and collaborating with Will County DOT and IDOT. Participants will be asked to understand and adhere to the following ground rules:

  • Input from all participants is valued and considered.

  • All participants must come to the process with an open mind and participate openly and honestly.

  • All participants in the process must treat each other with respect and dignity.

  • The project must progress at a reasonable pace, based on the original project schedule.

  • All participants understand that topics will not be revisited one the issues have been addressed and a general understanding is reached.

  • IDOT and Will County DOT will make a final recommendation on a preferred alternative.

  • Members of the media are welcome to attend the meetings as observers, not participants in the process.

What can you expect as a member of the CAG?

If you are interested in being a participant in the CAG, please fill out the form below. All forms must be received by January 5, 2026, to be considered for CAG membership. The CAG is limited. Members will be selected based upon who they represent with the goal being an even distribution from each interest area.
